Knife engravers here have advised me not to put such fine work on a factory made knife because it can not be sold for the value of the engraving. Also it looks like all of the engraving was done on one side of each knife. Is it acceptable to do only one side and leave the side with the clip unengraved?

Thank you for welcoming me on this forum. You are right. I have done many Spyderco police knives. Big part of them was for collectors of knives from Asia and Europe. Some of the knives are engraved only from one side and some of them from both sides - it depends on desire of costumer.
