I used a flat for the bright cuts and the Lindsay Caligraphy point for the lettering. The purple you see on the graver is silicone tubing. Its principle use is as a finger protector, i.e., a nice soft place to rest you tender guide finger on while you engrave. The secondary use is to easily identify the various graver points by color. This stuff comes in four colors and is available at your local hobby shop - it is actually
silcone gas line for model engines.
It fits the graver perfectly and has a surface that keeps your finger from sliding around while you cut - and it feels Oh So Soft!
