Wink Knife 6

Just one more and thats it. This one was done recently as I am getting ready for our show here in Missoula the end of august. This one has Iron wood burl handle slabs. Blade it 6150 a chrome vanadium steel, bolsters are again 1018.

I hope this does it.

Stupid Firewall of Idiocy!

Have to wait until I get home to see these right. For now I can at least peek at them on my phone. :window:

I like that you didn't blacken the background. The gray values look especially good with the wood scales.

Nice!

Wink Re: Knife 6

The blade back ground is just the normal oxides from heat treating with the blade polished by hand and the oxide left in tact. The bolsters have been blackened with Gesswiens antique gold black.

Looks great Neil! (Now that I can actually see it)

Very clean symmetry on everything, yet just enough hints of difference you can tell it was done by a person and not a machine.

Yeah, machine engraving leaves alot to be desired but some people can't tell the difference, I see alot of nice shotguns at the local store that are laser engraved and the engraving doesn't do justice to the gun but alot of people like them.

I'm happy to see more and more pseudo-engraving cropping up.

It means more people are wanting engraving.

Then it's just a matter of getting them to see the difference between what the masses are getting and real engraving.

As with everything it is a matter of educating the public. Most people are pretty superficial in their comprehension of what goes on in the world.
