Default Are these engravers tools?

Can anyone help me please. I have recentl[IMG][/IMG]y done an attic clearance here in France and have various sizes of these glass pestle like tools. They are heavyweight flat bottomed pieces. I was told they were used in the engraving process?

They are used for making ink, which is then used to make prints from an engraving.

Thank you for the swift reply. SO would it be used as a sort of pestle to mix powder for ink?
