Default Knife template

Greetings everyone,
I just realised that my flat and knife combo is actually a combo of 2 different graver geometric shapes and that the metal pin can be replaced to obtain different graver points.
I have only seen the flat shape one, so I was wondering, is there anyone with a link to a knife point sharpening thread, or can someone show me what a knife point should look like?
Thank you all,

Daniel

Hi Daniel, Grind the sides more until you get a knife edge and then place a tiny heel on it.

Hey Steve, thank you for the image!
So should I do the general shape of the graver also with the pin switched to the knife template?
Thank you!

Daniel

No, not needed. I grind them and this pic has the pin in where we place it when shipped.

I’m confused then. Is a knife graver just a tiny flat graver?
Why the different pin placement then?

Hi Daniel, Just if you want to rotate the blank 45 degrees how it is held in the handpiece. It grinds the point 45 degrees rotated on the shank if someone preferred it that way. I prefer them ground with where the pin is when we ship them.

Sharpen to knife edge and then put the tiny flat on it. So yes, it is tiny flat then.
