PalmControl photos
The two Nitro and Classic PalmControls went out last week. The Classic PC with the knife picture was shot a few weeks ago.

Re: PalmControl photos
Hi Steve,
These are absolutely beautiful photos. Over the last couple of years I have been trying to learn to take photos of my work and I can really appreciate photos with no reflections and no shadows. Also, by the way, really beautiful tools and knife!! Les Schowe |

Thanks Les. Mo, It is a M42 ground with a 116 degree template but not tapered very much to leave it larger.

Re: PalmControl photos
Beautiful.
I like the knife too,is it the lock release we can see on the backspacer there? |

Re: PalmControl photos
Hi Tom, Yes, it is a lock release. It is more like a wedge setup in it. The lock bar slides back and forth. The release button rolls to move the slide bar. It comes apart. Here is a photo of it disassembled. There are no holes drilled from the outside of the knife. It has blind T slots little holders with three 0-80 screws that come in from the side of the T slot that has a taper on it so that it pulls the two halves together. The set screws are accessed by reaching in from the bottom (into the blade opening). One side of the knife handle and the center portion of the knife (the back block, top block and blade bushing) are milled from one block and are one piece.

Re: PalmControl photos
Tried to post this with TapaTalk last night but Steve was apparently still working on it - the interface went dead during the time I was typing.
Steve does have the SS handles for the Palm Control and you can pretty easily adapt them to the Classic. I'm betting you could use the same method for those lovely burl ones too Steve. Get a rubber stopper - I think it's a #4 - and press it into the handle. Mark it and trim it to the actual height of the hole. Carefully drill an appropriate size hole (1/2"? I didn't have the exact size so I used the closest I had and Dremeled the hole out to size) into, but NOT through the stopper. You've now turned the stopper into a rubber cap over the end of the Classic (which seals the bore and makes it work) that fits tightly into the PC handle so you can use the graver. The holes for the PC can be in the handle without it being any problem. |

Re: PalmControl photos
Steve, Yes, the method works with SS handles as it does the burl ones.

Re: PalmControl photos
Glad it arrived safe!
Good photos! Did you figure the rubber cap ok? Push it on the body of the tool first and then the burl wood handle over it. I sent along an extra cap for you to have to work with.
