Hello from the Texas panhandle.
I been a lurker for a short time. I have been blown away by the great artwork and talent here. So, I took the plunge and joined. Then I ordered the hand Push graver set with the chisel. Wish it could have been a airgraver with all the goodies, but that is out of my price range... At the moment.
I'm a retired sign painter, plus I do Pinstriping, sculpting, and wood carving. Hopefully there is something in my skills that will help me become an engraver. I've been collecting any books and information I can find. Also working on my scroll drawing. I am looking forward to the journey of learning this fantastic craft. Belprime |

I think all your current skills will be assets in your quest to become a metal engraver. Good luck.

Re: Hello from the Texas panhandle.
Your past experiences should greatly help speed up your learning curve for engraving...some of our most successful current engravers have come from similar backgrounds and made very rapid progress. Just stick to it and ask questions...

Re: Hello from the Texas panhandle.
you don't need to spend a lot of money to get started, I teach a lot of people the hammer and chisel style of engraving.
