Default Today's work.

Hi,
I got this ring to set. Wierd sized but special in anyway.
Had to set 37 diamonds in it and one huge Ametrine.

Very nice as usual Daniel. What graver do you use most when trimming along the edges and general setting work of the diamonds? Doug

Hi Doug,
I use a hand ground carbide graver that must be around 55degrees.
Not sure but the 70degree bulino graver from the templates was to wide.
The stone's are between 1 and 1.3 mm wide.
This ring I did not make myself. I could have, but don't thik I could have come up with the design myself. It is silver and a bezel of 18kt yellow gold.
The topstone ways about 60ct, Ametrine quartz. Bezel about 0.8mm thick.

Chris,
Don't know why the pictures don't show for you. I allso put them on my album.

Greetings,

Daniel

I really like your stonesetting. Being a jeweler myself I can attest to your craftsmanship especially setting a big stone like this. Beautiful work!

That is some ring Daniel. Very nice! I like the picture of the ring on the PalmControl. Is your PalmControl now married.

Thanks Steve,
No they are not married. I convinced the ring that she was a better mach for someone else. I just don't want to see my Palm Controle unhappy :yesnod:

Doug, i also used a hand made carbide flat graver to get ridd of the material in between the beads to be. And a push flatgraver to devide the barrs between the stone's into equaly large beads and push them over the stone in the same action. Last a beading tool in the Lindsay.
I love the beads to hold 2 stone's each but then I would have needed about 20 stone's more.

Thank you Jeff! That really a big compliment coming from a colleague!
Any chance of seeing some of your work?

Jerry, indeed Top Heavy!

Greetings and thanks for looking.

Daniel

I can see it in your gallery but not in the thread. Hummm (scratch scratch)

Fantastic work Daniel. All your rings are excellent.

by the way....

I looked up Katie Melua. That's a good one I should have picked up on because it's just my kind of humor.
