Introduction to the Lindsey Airgraver
Hello, I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I recently became disabled and decided it was time to follow a dream. For the past 52 years I have dabbled in many forms of art, but never seriously. My dream was to engrave firearms. So, I am following that dream.
Several weeks ago I received a Three day introduction to the Lindsey Air engraver. My training was with JJ Roberts of Manassas, VA. Wonderful Artist and Trainer. During my stay,(which actually was cut to three days due to an illness, mine of course.) I learned enough that as soon as I am able to afford the purchase, I feel I have learned enough to start some serious practice. JJ and his wife make a very comfortable learning environment and I will return to him for more training. Anyway, I hope to meet and get to know alot of you in the years to come. |

Re: Introduction to the Lindsey Airgraver
Well, your starting off correctly by getting some instruction early. Even that ole' turkey J.J. has some good things to offer! He'll get you started in the right direction. Prepare to become obsessed with this marvelous art form, even if you only engrave just for your pleasure.

Re: Introduction to the Lindsey Airgraver
Welcome Tom!
Sometimes, you can be trudging up a mountain, barley making any progress, as each step seems small and painful. Then, all of a sudden, you look back, and see you are much further along than you thought! Illnesses are tough to deal with. I'm still figuring out some of my own health issues, but the journey will be worth it! You have begun, that is usually the hardest part! take care, Tom
