Default colt 1878 newly aquired and newby checking in

Hello,

I just got finished paying this gun off in Lay-a-way after 90 days. I am going to be getting a letter for it as I belive it could very well be a Colt factory engraved piece maybe one of the 280 factory engraved hope so?

I have had a few colt guys look at it with pic's sent to them and they seem to feel the same thing. It is about 80% engraved coverage about 95% condition barrel bore is mint and it locks up tighter than a bank vault. .45 colt 4 3/4 barrel mfg 1889 not original grips and looks like loading gate has been replaced as it does not match serial numbers.

I am an Active duty Navy Chief Petty Officer and a cowboy action shooter as well. I have started collecting old 1873 winchesters and unique guns such as this one.
