Caveman art?

I've been attempting to scrimshaw with a knife tip as I'd like to have a more primitive look to my pieces, but I can see where gravers would give me a lot more control over the variance in thickness in my lines. The woodspirit is on fossil walrus, and the heron on red stag antler. I'm a rank beginner, but your critiques would be most welcome, I'm here to learn. Thanks, Ted( Doc) Parker

I was hoping( I guess) that someone would tell me what type or profile of graver might give me better and more expressive line qualities to improve on where I am. I guess metal is the material of choice here. I just want to learn about engraved design. Ted
